The renaissance of color

The world is on an endless loop, what was once considered outdated, sooner or later comes back. Wether we like it or not. And one could argue we’re in the middle of a renaissance when it comes to bold statement pieces and colorful themes. And who doesn't like that?

Very Peri, the color of the year, is a great example that could be used as evidence of the alleged reincarnation of the adventurous way of expressing yourself through interior design. At a first glance, the color might seem daunting, but once you peer deeper into the peeriwinkle blue with its red undertones, you might experience a surprising feeling of happiness and warmth. If an entire wall doesn’t feel like the way to go, add smaller bits and pieces of decor or furniture in the futuristic, yet familiar eminent bold color.
The people behind Pantone describes its origin.
"As we emerge from an intense period of isolation, our notions and standards are changing, and our physical and digital lives have merged in new ways. Digital design helps us to stretch the limits of reality, opening the door to a dynamic virtual world where we can explore and create new color possibilities. With trends in gaming, the expanding popularity of the metaverse and rising artistic community in the digital space, Very Peri illustrates the fusion of modern life and how color trends in the digital world are being manifested in the physical world and vice versa."
So how does one go about when incorporating bold colors without making the space anxious or overwhelming?
Here’s our three takes on it.
1. If you have a somewhat neutral background, a regular white or painted wall with a slightly lighter hue, we suggest you make a splash with colorful statement pieces and decor. This setting goes amazingly well with a wallpaper mural in the ceiling which helps capsule the atmosphere in the room.
2. If you decide to make the wall the bell of the ball, a slightly more simplistic approach when it comes to furnitures and interior, is a great way to go, to create that artsy studio feeling.

Stay true to one self
Lastly, we would like to point out that each and every one of us have our own taste and preferences when it comes to interior design. Stay open minded to get inspired, but never let anyone tell you what's right or wrong. You make your own rules, and that's the beauty of it.
