"I'm a multi-creative person currently obsessed with architecture, interior design, shoes and browsing furniture I can’t afford". For almost seven years, Olivia has been crafting visual stories at Superstudio in Borås. "My role there is diverse—I work as a stylist, photographer, and Art Director, but I also dive into set design, location scouting, and casting. It’s a fun mix of everything!"

Before her career in creative production, she studied Textile Product Development and Entrepreneurship at the Swedish School of Textiles. "It feels like all those experiences have shaped my approach to design—both in my professional life and at home.

A Playful and Sophisticated Home

When asked to describe her home’s style, she calls it “playful, retro, yet sophisticated.” Drawing heavy inspiration from 1960s Space Age design, Olivia’s home is a celebration of round, futuristic forms paired with bold accent colors. "I’ve always loved the aesthetic of mid-century modern architecture, and over the years, that’s really started to reflect in my space."

The result is a harmonious blend of iconic design pieces, auction finds, and carefully curated vintage treasures.

Furniture with Stories

Many of the home’s standout pieces are steeped in personal history or thoughtful craftsmanship. "One of my favorites is the Åskbollen chair in my living room. It came with me from my childhood home and is my ultimate safe space. It’s sound-insulated, it spins, and I’ve spent countless hours reading in it since middle school."

Another prized possession is the Maralunga armchair by Vico Magistretti. "It was the first item I won at an auction after moving out. It’s what sparked my love for auctions, and I still use it every day."

Where Design Meets Lifestyle

The living room is the heart of the home. "It’s where I spend most of my waking hours—eating, watching series, working, playing games, or just relaxing with my boyfriend." Despite the ever-changing layouts (a side effect of her work as a stylist), the room maintains a cozy, functional charm.

And how does Olivia’s career influence her home? "My job involves constantly experimenting with trends and ideas, so I’m always shifting things around at home. But at its core, my style remains true to me—perhaps a bit more colorful these days, thanks to my work."

Tips for a Personal Touch

When it comes to creating a unique, inspiring home, she emphasizes patience. "Think of your home as a work-in-progress. It took me eight years, two couches, and three dining tables before I felt truly happy with my current setup."

For those looking to incorporate patterns or bold wallpaper, Olivia recommends starting with what you already have. "Look at your existing color palette—furniture, rugs, floors—and build from there. Don’t be afraid to experiment!

Where to Find Inspiration

The furniture and decor come from a mix of iconic brands and second-hand finds. Favorites include Flos, Verner Panton, and Gustaf Westman, alongside auction platforms like Bukowskis and local flea markets. "I also inherited some amazing stoneware pieces from my grandmother, which sparked my love for Gunnar Nylund and Carl-Harry Stålhane."

"Save hundreds of images on Pinterest or Instagram and study them in detail, how are the lamps positioned? What’s on the sideboard? What’s the ratio of rug to furniture? These little details make all the difference."

By blending iconic design with deeply personal touches, Olivia has transformed her space into a playful yet sophisticated haven—a true reflection of her artistry and passion for living beautifully.
