People of Belarte - Natalie Papier

This time we have welcomed Natalie Papier, interior designer, influencer and owner of Home EC, a vintage and eclectic interior design company. She lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina with her two kids, husband and the cutest dog named Billy. She has a strong belief that homes should be a reflection of the people who live in them, full of life, character and warmth.

“As an artist myself, I have a deep appreciation for art and color in my own home and my designs. My art forward, colorful design aesthetic is eclectic and unique to each space I work with.

I have a strong love for colorful wallpaper, diverse furnishings and pattern play”.

What mural did you choose and how come you went for that design?

It's important to me that the spaces I design are reflective of the people living in them. My client for the One Room Challenge was a 11 year old girl with a love for the color blue. The Citrus design is so fun and whimsical with a unique periwinkle blue color palette to draw from.

What would you say to anyone who's thinking about getting a wall mural but haven’t decided 100% yet?

Do it! It's such a fun, easy way to make a big statement whether you're into color or neutrals!

What’s the best thing with wallpaper according to you?

Wallpaper is a great way to add instant art into a room. It provides you the base for an instant color palette to draw from and design the rest of the room around.

From where do you find your inspiration?

EVERYWHERE! Traveling, art, fabrics, unique color combos I notice in life....inspiration is all around us!

What are your best tips to create a personal interior?

Start by considering the things you already own and love. By designing with pieces that are reflective of you and your style, it will help give you the platform to expand on your home style.
