It begins in 2014 when the visionary creative director, Dagny Thurmann-Moe, dared to challenge the prevailing greyscale monotony that enveloped our surroundings. With a burning passion to unveil the profound impact of colors, she did some research on human emotions and experiences. As she delved into her research, Thurmann-Moe started writing her book “Farger til folket” (Colors for the people) in 2015 and encountered a dearth of resources echoing her sentiments. It was during this period of introspection and exploration that the seeds of Koi were sown.
She was driven by a relentless pursuit to infuse life into spaces and Thurmann-Moe was joined by the equally passionate Sarah Lesszinski in 2019, forming a formidable duo at the helm of Koi. Together, they set out to revolutionize interior design, driven by an unwavering belief in the transformative power of colors to shape perceptions and interactions with our surroundings.
At the heart of their mission lies a deep-rooted belief in the power of colors to shape our perceptions and interactions with the environment. Armed with this conviction, Koi's team of interior architects and designers collaborate closely with clients, crafting meticulously curated color concepts that breathe new life into every space they touch.
But their desire for color doesn't end there. Realizing the transformative potential of wall murals, Koi found a like-minded partner in belarteSTUDIO. With a shared vision of breaking loose from the limitations of greyscale monotony, the collaboration has grown into a vibrant collection of colorful wall murals, adorned with captivating patterns that defies the ordinary.

Meanwhile, the Scallop panel design envelops us in a delicate fusion of scallops and stripes, seamlessly blending classical aesthetics with a contemporary charm that resonates with modern sensibilities.
A Thousand Suns invites us into a warm embrace where the spirit of the 60s and 70s converges with ancient Arab geometric patterns, embodying the essence of Scandinavian minimalism. Finally, the Still Garden offers solace and tranquility as it merges the Arts and Crafts era with modernism, creating a sanctuary where muted hues and floral motifs dance in harmony, providing a gentle respite from the outside world. Each design in the collection tells a unique story and invites us to explore the rich tapestry of history and culture while infusing our spaces with timeless beauty and tranquility.
Transitioning to the Bold Stripe, we encounter a timeless pattern with a twist that exudes elegance and sophistication, breathing life into various spaces with its striking presence. For all designs, we have also selected and listed the colors that will match the wall mural, which will make the process of achieving the desired aesthetic easier. Consider painting one of the colors on the ceiling, our so called fifth wall to eliminate the starkness of a plain white surface and further enhance the overall ambiance of the space.
