Tell us about your wall mural. What role does wall mural have in the way you build and define a space?
This is my second time having the Tapestry Landscape wallpaper in our bedroom — and for good reason. It’s the most beautiful element in my home. The room automatically feels engulfed in rich romanticism. It’s crazy how heavily transformed a space can feel with sheets of paper! This wall mural has truly created the bedroom of my dreams. I feel like my most relaxed and creative self here, like stepping into another space entirely. If I could have the wallpaper on every wall in my home, I absolutely would.
How was your experience installing a wall mural from belartestudio?
The installation of belarteSTUDIO’s wall mural was therapeutic! I personally love putting up wall murals and seeing a room fully come together. The rolls are super easy to follow, and I highly recommend taking the leap if you’ve ever considered wallpaper in your home.
I installed the wall mural using liquid starch, which I prefer for its flexibility and clean application. It’s a method I’ve come back to over time and one that works especially well with high-quality papers like BelarteSTUDIO’s — letting the design really shine while keeping the process approachable and easy to reverse as a renter.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to create a personal home within the limits of a rental?
Just do it! Making your home feel like you, even if you don’t own it, is the best investment you can make, in my opinion. People feel perfectly comfortable spending money on temporary vacations for a week, but they cringe at the thought of investing in the space where they spend most of their time.
Your home should be a place you love to be — an expression of your taste and a relic of all the things you love and the lives you’ve lived. Tomorrow isn’t promised — enjoy your space while you have it, whether your name is on the deed or not.
How would you describe your interior style?
Eclectic dark academia elements with a touch of modern. I’m drawn to the old-world feel, which can sometimes make living in America feel limited. Dark, cozy rooms. Warm lighting. Gallery walls. Oriental rugs. Tapestries.
In truth, my home is a collection of anything that's ever called to me. I think that’s the beautiful thing about walking into someone’s home — you see all of the little things that bring them pleasure.
What inspires you the most?
I’m always inspired by a true home. Do you know the kind? The homes that are obviously lived in. Loved. Full of items that bring joy and are filled with memories — not filled with trends that come and go. A home that feels like a warm sense of fully knowing the person whose space you’ve stepped into.
